This new headquarters mission in Burlingame, CA was envisioned as a sophisticatedly easy, but approachable office to facilitate connectivity and group whereas supporting worker wants for focus, collaboration, and work-style flexibility.

To realize this imaginative and prescient, the design staff integrated parts of wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that embraces the great thing about imperfection and the transience of life. Using hand-made tiles, weathered brass {hardware}, and pure supplies resembling oak wooden and limestone plaster creates a snug, home-like environment. The end palette was impressed by nature and options strategically positioned pops of colour so as to add a component of shock and delight whereas offering an general sense of calm. A major accomplishment of this mission was the enlargement of the present second-floor walkway into a big, multi-use deck house with new finishes, lighting, and patio furnishings.
